Tip of the Month:

TIP: Building lean muscle will help you create a toned, strong, and lean body. What you may not know is that MUSCLE ALSO BURNS FAT! Stored fat is one of the fuels utilized in order for our muscles to grow (recruit new fiber which results in increased strength & muscle tone).
To maximize your weight loss goals, it is best to combine strength training 3 times per week along with regular cardiovascular exercise.

TIP: Pilates was first developed by a German immigrant, Joseph Pilates, over 70 years ago and was used primarily to condition the bodies of professional dancers, more specifically their core muscles (abdominal and back muscles); it was also later used in successful injury rehabilitation. Pilates is an excellent way to challenge your mind, body and spirit in one effective class. Pilates exercises are performed with precise repetitions in several planes of motion. Pilates can help develop strong muscles and flat abs, all while improving flexibility and joint mobility.
Women of all ages benefit tremendously from Pilates classes.

TIP: In order to fully reap the benefits of the time you are spending exercising, you must warm up first. Taking a few extra minutes to slowly adjust to a steady increase in aerobic activity will ensure a better performance from your body and in turn will make your workout more efficient. Start your anaerobic workout slowly and gradually increase the intensity. Stretch all primary muscles before any strength training regimen. Warm ups raise your body's core temperature and prevents injuries by improving the elasticity of your muscles.
